The Ukrainian non-profit organization Gromada and the Sharvarok marketplace invite you to a festive Valentine's Day charity event in San Francisco. There will be charming Ukrainian songs, delicious food, a singing contest, an auction to support orphans, and a raffle for an iPhone 16 Plus for the Dating category participants.

The first Ukrainian amateur theater in California, the Traveling Stars, invites you to a premiere presentation dedicated to Les Kurbas, the legendary director of the twentieth century. The program includes scenes from Mykola Kulish's plays, a story about Kurbas's life and work, a charity auction, as well as coffee, tea and snacks. All the funds raised will be used to help orphans of fallen heroes in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian community invites you to a charity event in support of orphans in Ukraine. The program includes a musical performance by Orestes and Anna, a charity auction with valuable items, treats, coffee and desserts. All proceeds will go to the initiatives of the Angelik Foundation, which has been helping children who lost their parents in the war since 2018.

Stand with Ukraine! Benefit concert
A charity concert on June 4 in Sevastopol brings together star musicians and the community to support Ukrainian families who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war. On stage will be Chris Webster, Nina Gerber, Kit Grininger, Joy Alive! and young Ukrainian performers Eleonora and Angelina Bezhenar. All proceeds will go to help displaced persons in Sonoma County.

The film shows the lives of Eva, Sasha, and Kolya in a children's shelter in eastern Ukraine. Supporting the film is a chance to give Ukrainian children a voice and help them secure a safe future.
Charity Concert of Ukrainian Music of Hope
On January 21, there will be a charity concert of Ukrainian classical music, songs, and dances with traditional food. After the performance, there will be an auction and sale of delicacies. Tickets cost $40, and children can attend for free. All proceeds will go to support Hromada initiatives.

On October 10, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Ukraine, killing civilians, destroying infrastructure, and leaving thousands of people without power. Today at 5 p.m., the community will gather at San Francisco City Hall to condemn Russian terrorism and call for the supply of modern air defense systems to Ukraine.

Meet the heroes of Mariupol in San Francisko
The event at Stanford invites everyone to meet Ukrainian heroes — defenders of Mariupol who repelled attacks by the Russian army in the spring of 2022. Three freed soldiers, as well as relatives of prisoners, will share their testimonies about the siege of the city, the horrors of captivity, and the courage of Ukrainian soldiers.

Russian Shame-Protest Against the Rep of Women in Ukraine
We invite you to join the global protest against sexual violence as a weapon of war in Ukraine. On Sunday, May 28, simultaneously with protests in other countries, we will gather in San Francisco to honor the memory of Ukrainian women who have suffered rape at the hands of Russian soldiers.

On May 22, the Forest Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea will host a charity concert of Ukrainian music featuring the Kolyada choir, bandura player Olya Gerasymenko, singer Anichka, and opera singers Oksana Manzhai and Oleksandra Zabasta. The event will be complemented by an auction and a post-concert meeting with the artists. All proceeds will go to support Ukraine.

The community is organizing an event at the Tiburon Yacht Club together with Antin Mukharsky on Sunday, May 8, at the Tiburon Yacht Club. All funds raised during this concert will be donated to Serhiy Prytula's charity fund for the needs of the Ukrainian military.

Lighthouse Ukraine is a symbol of solidarity with Ukraine, bringing together Ukrainian activists, professors, NGO leaders, and the local community. On March 27, a rally called “Protect Ukraine” was held at Crissy Field, during which the San Francisco community expressed its support for Ukrainians and called on the US to increase military aid. An installation of empty baby strollers symbolized the 135 children who have died. Participants shared photos and videos, creating a powerful media message about the need to protect life, freedom, and democracy.

Concert by Oleg Skrypka
On December 18, 2021, a charity concert by Oleg Skrypka was held in Davis, organized by the NGO “Hromada” in support of orphaned children whose parents died defending Ukraine. The audience enjoyed live singing, saxophone accompaniment by Andriy Lesny, a warm atmosphere, and also took part in a charity auction. All proceeds were donated to the Angelik Foundation.

On October 26, 2021, a landmark meeting took place in San Francisco with Ukrainian dissident Myroslav Marynovych, who presented his book “The Universe Behind Barbed Wire.” The evening, organized jointly by the Community, UCEF, and UKU, attracted a large audience and was memorable for its heartfelt memories, profound reflections on the crimes of the totalitarian regime, and musical accompaniment by the vocal duo Stusiv.

On August 22, 2021, a festive concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, "Ukrainian Day," was held in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Dance ensembles, opera singers, a choir from Sacramento, the park orchestra, and the Burima band took part in the event. Those present sang, danced, listened to Ukrainian music, and sincerely welcomed the artists' performances, creating an atmosphere of unity and pride in their native culture.

Multicultural Children's Festival in Cupertino
On August 14, 2021, the Ukrainian community of Northern California brightly represented Ukraine at the international children's festival Kids Fun Festival in Cupertino. Participants — Iryna Kulchytska and her family, Yevhen Yankovsky and Oleg Kernytsky — created an authentic tent with a photo zone, ethnic clothing, paper crafts, Ukrainian music and interesting facts about Ukraine. Hundreds of visitors learned Ukrainian words, took pictures in Ukrainian wreaths and learned about the history and culture of our people. The event became an example of successful cultural diplomacy and a great opportunity to unite the community around common values.

We invite you to a Zoom meeting with Ruslan Telipsky, a Shevchenko scholar who has visited over 1,400 monuments to the Kobzar around the world. The author of dozens of photo exhibitions and the founder of the patriotic procession "Tarasiv Dorogovkaz" will share unique stories about Shevchenko's monumental legacy.

On December 19, the Hromada organization held an online Christmas celebration “Nikolai Comes via Zoom” in support of the children of fallen heroes of Ukraine. The program, with music, jokes, and an auction, united the community and raised donations for the Angelik Foundation. Participants joined from home, and the festive dress code added coziness to this charitable initiative.
Festival in Sacramento-Orangeville
The 13th Ukrainian Folk and Classical Music Festival took place on September 20, 2020, in Sacramento-Orangeville, bringing together talented young musicians from all over California. The program featured works by Ukrainian composers and folk melodies performed by children and teenagers on the bandura, violin, piano, and flute. The festival was a true celebration of Ukrainian culture, love of music, and respect for national heritage.
Festive outdoor charity concert
On August 22, Hromada organized a festive charity concert on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day at Paradise Beach Park. Despite quarantine restrictions, participants gathered outdoors to honor the holiday and raise funds for a scholarship for a child who lost a father or mother in the war. The festive atmosphere was created by performances by talented performers Ivanna, Juliana, and Anichka.
Practical tips on Finances and Real Estate in Turbulent time
On July 25, 2020, Hromada hosted an open discussion panel on finance and real estate in turbulent times in Fremont’s Central Park. Participants received advice on maintaining a credit history, choosing a bank, investing, and buying real estate. The event brought together experts in finance, banking, and the housing market and concluded with a question-and-answer session.
High-tech job search in turbulent times | open air discussion
On June 20, 2020, Hromada held an open discussion panel at Golden Gate Park on finding work in IT during times of instability. Participants discussed the specifics of employment in the Bay Area and shared their experiences of interviews and salary negotiations. The event took place in a friendly atmosphere with social distancing measures in place and ended with a raffle for those in attendance.

On December 9, the Community and the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception invite you to celebrate St. Nicholas Day in San Francisco. The program includes a candy fair organized by children from the “Native School” and a silent charity auction. The recommended donation is $25. All proceeds will go toward gifts for the children of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.

As part of the “Months of Mercy” initiative, the Community and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception invite you to a lecture on “The Spectrum of Banking Services in the United States and Personal Finance” on December 2. A personal banker will talk about the history of finance, types of banking products, credit history, and payment systems. The recommended contribution is $25. All funds raised will go toward St. Nicholas Day gifts for the children of fallen Ukrainian defenders.

As part of the “Months of Mercy,” the Community and the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in San Francisco invite you to a “Panel of Medical Professionals.” Topics such as retraining for a career in healthcare in the US and preparing children for admission to medical schools will be discussed, and questions will be answered.
