Presentation with scenes from the play “Les Kurbas. The Clever Harlequin”

The first Ukrainian amateur theater in California, the Traveling Stars (directed and run by Olena Bilyak), invites you to a premiere presentation dedicated to the work of Les Kurbas.
We will tell you about the life and theatrical phenomenon of one of the best directors of the twentieth century. Actors of the theater will show scenes from Mykola Kulish's plays “People's Malachy”, “Maklena Hrasa”, and “Mina Mazailo”. The meeting will take place at the Polish American Club of Sacramento. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Angelik Foundation, which operates under the umbrella of the non-profit organization “Gromada” in San Francisco, and will be sent to Ukraine to organize St. Nicholas Day celebrations and gifts for orphans of fallen Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The audience will also have the opportunity to take part in a charity auction with valuable items!
The ticket price is $50.00. Please transfer money directly to the charity fund, do not forget to indicate your name and number of tickets, the entrance to the hall will be according to the list.

Event Report

On October 27, 2024, at the invitation of the Ukrainian community, the first Ukrainian amateur theater Traveling Stars from San Francisco premiered in Roseville, California. This is the second event that Hromada and the theater have organized with a charitable mission to benefit orphans of fallen Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war to bring a sense of celebration and smiles during the Christmas and New Year holidays. 
A wonderful theatrical performance was held, combined with an informative lecture-presentation about the life and work of Les Kurbas “Clever Harlequin”, which was conducted by the director and head of the theater, Ms. Yelena Bilyak.
The actors of the theater Olena Petrova, Diana Yavorska, Bohdan Pyndus-Pastukh, Tetiana Lozhnevska, Vadzim Pryshchepau, and Natasha Karpenko performed excerpts from Mykola Kulish's plays “Folk Malachy”, “Maklena Graza”, and “Mina Mazailo”.
We thank the entire team for your inspired performance and the positive emotions you gave the audience! 
We are grateful to all those present and active participants of the auction, this is our common success! This time, artists Igor Butkovsky (three canvases) and Anna Aksenova (one canvas) kindly provided their works for the auction, and all the works were successfully sold to the participants of the evening.
