
Lesya Castillo
Lesya Castillo is a Ukrainian-American community leader and media professional. She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Hromada, a Ukrainian-language newspaper based in Corte Madera, California. Established in 2017, Hromada serves the Ukrainian diaspora in Northern California, providing news coverage, cultural content, and community updates. The publication has been particularly significant during times of crisis in Ukraine, offering a platform for Ukrainian voices and fostering community solidarity.
In addition to her role in media, Castillo is a graphic designer by profession. She has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts, with Hromada raising and distributing significant funds to support those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Castillo resided in the Bay Area for approximately 25 years before relocating to North Carolina following her husband’s retirement. Despite the move, she continues to contribute to Hromada and remains engaged with the Ukrainian-American community.
