What is success in theater?

The answer is clear: a full house, sincere emotions of the audience, laughter and applause! This is exactly how the premiere of the children’s play based on Ivan Franko’s fairy tale The Painted Fox took place.

The Valentine’s Day charity evening “Love Marigolds!” united the Ukrainian community in San Francisco and Sacramento for a night of music, warmth, and support. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers and guests, the event raised $4,521.75 to support the initiatives of the non-profit organization “Hromada.”

On October 27, 2024, the Ukrainian amateur theater Wandering Stars from San Francisco held a charitable performance in Roseville, Sacramento, raising $4,105.30 to support orphans of fallen Ukrainian defenders. The evening featured a play based on Les Kurbas’ legacy, excerpts from Mykola Kulish’s dramas, a charity auction, and united the community in support of a noble cause.

On September 18, 2021, Gromada and the Angelik Foundation held a charity gala at the Tiburon Yacht Club, raising $2,888 for children of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. The evening featured Ukrainian music, an art auction, and a virtual talk with journalist Vitaliy Portnikov.

On August 22, 2021, the Ukrainian community celebrated the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence with a vibrant “Ukrainian Day” concert in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The event featured traditional music, dance, and performances by local artists and choirs, uniting the diaspora in a joyful and emotional tribute to Ukraine.
