The Vyshyvanka That United America
Hromada Wraps Up Its Nationwide Flash Mob
The nationwide flash mob marking the 20th anniversary of World Vyshyvanka Day ended with a warm get-together: giveaway winner Serhii Topchii received his vyshyvanka. The gift was presented in person by Yarema Kuzyshyn, co-founder of Hromada and the creator of the flash mob idea.
The meeting was more than the finale of a giveaway. It was a sign of unity among Ukrainians in the U.S. and everyone who supports Ukrainian culture far from home.
The Vyshyvanka as a Language of Unity
The flash mob brought together people from all corners of America around a shared idea: to show the world the beauty, strength, and modern voice of the Ukrainian vyshyvanka. Participants shared photos and videos, supported the initiative with donations, and spread the word.
A vyshyvanka is more than a piece of traditional clothing. It is a garment that carries the historical code of the Ukrainian nation: family stories, regional patterns, and the bond between generations. For Ukrainians in the U.S., it is also a way of saying: we stand with Ukraine, we remember who we are, and we share our culture with the world.

A Gift from Roksolana Bogutska
The winner's vyshyvanka was donated by Roksolana Bogutska and the Roksolana Bogutska brand. Today's Ukrainian designers not only reimagine traditional patterns but also make our culture recognizable and sought after around the world. This gift is a reminder that tradition can be deep, modern, and international all at once. Hromada is sincerely grateful for such a wonderful and valuable prize for the winner.

Thank You to Everyone Who Stood with Us
Hromada extends its sincere thanks to:
- all flash mob participants for the photos, videos, donations, and shares;
- Lesia Voroniuk, founder of World Vyshyvanka Day, for her media support and inspiration;
- the Sharvarok platform (Sharvarok.com) for spreading the word and for its collaboration in promoting Ukrainian culture across America;
- Ivanna Andreikiv for helping run the giveaway and announce the winner;
- Yarema Kuzyshyn for the idea behind the flash mob and for presenting the vyshyvanka in person.

The Culture We Carry into the World
Ukrainian culture knows no borders. It lives in families, communities, and schools, at cultural events, and on the streets of American cities whenever people wear their vyshyvankas with pride and love.
Congratulations to Serhii Topchii, and thank you to everyone who became part of this celebration. Let's unite around what is ours: our language, memory, traditions, and beauty.
