“Wandering Stars” Visited Sacramento with Their First Ukrainian-Language Play Based on Ivan Franko’s Fairy Tale “The Painted Fox”
“Wandering Stars” continue their tour through Northern California! At the invitation of the Ukrainian community of Sacramento, and to the delight of children, “The Painted Fox” arrived with all the animals of the magical forest. This is the fourth theatrical event organized in collaboration with the nonprofit organization “Hromada” in support of the “Anhelyk” foundation and its initiatives in Ukraine.
Children and adults enjoyed the wonderful performances of the actors, who managed to transport the audience into the fairy-tale forest and the adventures of its inhabitants. Viewers took away many valuable lessons and returned home in great spirits, with cherished souvenirs won during the auction.
On behalf of the nonprofit organization “Hromada,” we extend our sincere thanks to all the guests of the performance, our wonderful actors, and artistic director Yelena Bilyak; to Natalie Kokhanyy for assistance with renting the venue; to Andriy Shegera and PodiyaSound for kindly and generously providing the sound equipment free of charge; and to Ihor Butkovskyi and Veronika Buliuk for the beautiful paintings donated for the auction.
A heartfelt thank-you to all the active participants of the auction with their valuable lots – thanks to our combined efforts, we raised $2,025, with expenses totaling $440, resulting in a fundraising outcome of $1,585.
Thank you, and see you next time, friends!
