On Saturday, September 18, 2021, a charity evening organized by the Hromada Society and the Angelik Foundation took place at the Tiburon Yacht Club. More than 40 of the most active members of the community attended the event. The program for the evening was read by host Yarema Kuzyishyn, who announced that the main event—a meeting with Ukrainian journalist and publicist Vitaliy Portnikov—would take place via video link due to the pandemic.

Andriy Shegera, a member of the Burima ensemble, greeted those present, and the ensemble itself performed several well-known Ukrainian songs and melodies. The club had a bar, the tables were laden with delicious food delivered by Yuriy Kolesnikov, and the music created an atmosphere of friendly communication and cheerful mood.

Singer Anichka delighted the guests with her beautiful singing, performing a number of Ukrainian folk songs, including two Lemko songs. At the end, she sang a song by ATO participant, navigator of the 16th separate brigade of army aviation Servania. Natalia Anon, the host of the meeting, took the floor and asked Vitaly Portnikov questions about the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, the development of statehood, the activities of the authorities, the state of reforms, and the democratization of society. Portnikov responded in detail, sometimes expressing his own subjective assessments, which sparked lively discussion and prompted additional questions from the audience. The discussion lasted over two hours, and Natalia, along with the participants of the evening, sincerely thanked Vitaly for an interesting and meaningful time.

The evening continued with dancing to the lively music of the Burima band, and the guests were reluctant to leave for a long time. During the event, $2,888 was raised to support children whose parents died defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

There was also an auction of three paintings by Ukrainian artist Myroslav Duzinkevich from New York, whose work was previously featured in the newspaper Hromada. The winners of the auction were Orest Balytsky, Tamara Donchenko, and Olena Prendel. The funds raised, totaling $1,240, were transferred to the Angelic Charitable Foundation.

After the auction, a video meeting with Vitaly Portnikov began. His image appeared on the big screen in the hall, ready to communicate, and the evening continued with a meaningful discussion that united the Ukrainian community for a common goal.
