The Anhelyk Foundation, founded under the umbrella of the non-profit organization Hromada, was created to help children who lost their father or mother while defending Ukraine’s sovereignty from Russian invaders. Our goal is to send $50 for the holidays for each child, so that Ukraine knows that the diaspora has not forgotten their sacrifice, that they are remembered and cared for. This is important moral and material support, and our organization receives numerous thanks from all of you who did not stay away and joined our charitable events. Great respect and gratitude comes from both Ukraine and our team of volunteers!

In 2019, thanks to your participation, the following funds were raised:

Hromada Charity Gala for Children’s Day on June 1: $3,882;

“St. Nicholas Comes to Adults” – Charity Evening on December 21: $4,055;

Donations: $6,850;

“Giving Tuesday” – donations on the Facebook page: $550.

The total amount of funds raised was $15,337. These funds were transferred to Ukraine at the rate of $50 for each child who lost their parents in the war in the east.

We managed to fully cover the Ivano-Frankivsk (52 children), Lviv (120 children) and Ternopil (41 children) regions. Additionally, 93 children from other regions of Ukraine received funds: Kherson, Kyiv, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad regions.

In total, funds were transferred to 306 children in the amount of $15,300. This is 174 children ($8,700) more than last year. See the list of our donors and volunteers on page 2 of this issue.

Thanks to you, all of this has become possible. May the Lord God bless you and your families for your support and donations!

We also want to thank all the volunteers in Ukraine who called families, transferred funds, organized meetings and without whose help we would never have been able to reach all corners of Ukraine:
