At the end of 2018 Hromada, together with Ridna Shkola and the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in San Francisco, organized a series of events dedicated to “Charitable Actions” where $1,255 was collected (including $310 leftover from the spring fundraiser). Additionally, during Giving Tuesday in December, another $1,900 was raised. Altogether, $3,155 was collected for children in Ukraine who lost a parent on the frontline.

Unfortunately, Facebook did not fulfill its promise to match the funds collected during Giving Tuesday, explaining it by the overall cap limit for all organizations.

In December, $1,550 was sent to 31 children on the list, with $50 per child. Soon, another $1,600 will be transferred for 32 children from Ivano-Frankivsk region, also $50 each. In total, $3,150 was raised for 63 children in Ukraine thanks to your efforts and donations. The funds were collected through lectures, meetings, and other events held in November and December under the theme of charitable months.

Additionally, thanks to the efforts of individual members of Hromada, another $3,450 was sent for 69 children in Ukraine.

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone who did not stay indifferent, who participated in charitable events, donated their time, resources, and money. Without you, it would not be possible to let the families of our heroes know that they are not forgotten, and that people even far away in California remember them.

We cannot list all donors here, as the list is impressively long. However, since Hromada is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, you may request a statement for tax deduction. Please contact us at hromada.sf@gmail.com.

We would also like to mention that parishioners of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, together with the Ukrainian School in San Francisco and the St. Volodymyr Center in San Jose, collected and sent 66 packages to families in Ukraine.
