Our Mission

Since December 2017, we have proudly published Hromada, the first Ukrainian-language newspaper on the West Coast of the United States. In 2024, we expanded our reach by launching an English-language version, making our content accessible to an even broader audience. Our monthly publication connects Ukrainian-Americans by offering valuable insights into political, cultural, educational, and charitable topics, preserving our heritage, and showcasing our community's contributions to American society.

Hromada leads wide-reaching charitable efforts through the "Anhelyk" Foundation, established to support children whose parents died defending Ukraine.

Our support includes:

• annual Christmas gifts,
• psychological support and rehabilitation programs,
• procurement of medical supplies and equipment,
• scholarships and access to quality education at leading Ukrainian universities.

Our mission is not only to provide essential aid, but also to give the children of fallen Heroes hope, opportunity, and a dignified future.

Hromada actively organizes and supports Ukrainian cultural events throughout California — from San Francisco and the Bay Area to Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Thematic evenings, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, and community gatherings help preserve and pass on Ukrainian traditions, unite the diaspora, and introduce our cultural heritage to a wider audience.

We actively encourage Ukrainian-Americans to join our efforts by participating in initiatives that support Ukraine and strengthen the diaspora. Our work is rooted in transparency, efficiency, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful, lasting change in the lives of those we serve. Together, we strive to honor our heritage, build a stronger community, and support the next generation of Ukrainians both in the United States and abroad.
